I’ve been running my small art business from home for about 2 and a half years, and one of the biggest things I’ve learned is that the amount of space you have—and the layout of that space—can genuinely improve the quality of your everyday life. In this video, I’m giving my workspace a mini makeover with a desk upgrade that fits how my business (and my creativity) has grown. I started with a tiny 30-inch desk in a shared room, and over time I’ve added shelving, drawers, and a more supportive chair to make my workflow smoother and more comfortable. The main upgrade is my new Flexispot E6 dual motor standing desk (60" x 30") with a bamboo top and white frame, and I walk you through unboxing, setting it up, and building a cozy desk setup around my essentials—my monitor and MacBook. I also add a clamp lamp for proper lighting (because this room only has one window and the overhead light is dim) and a clamp-on pegboard to maximize vertical space and keep things accessible whether I’m sitting or standing. After everything is in place, I decorate with trinkets and little objects that remind me of happy memories and my inner child—because that’s deeply tied to why I create cute, cozy art and coloring books in the first place. To celebrate the fresh setup, I also do a relaxing miniature DIY kit and end the day doodling with a black brush pen—plus I share my idea of potentially turning those doodles into a future coloring book.
