About This Video

In this video I ran through 100 questions about sports photography, sports design, and breaking into the creative industry—no fluff, just the stuff I’ve learned from actually doing the job. I talk about how I started making money (spoiler: I worked for free early as an investment into myself), what I shoot on, how I handle settings for basketball, and why post-processing is literally everything if you want your work to look pro. I also get into workflow—how I cull, why I hate editing huge batches, and how I try to oversimplify big events into segments so I don’t get overwhelmed. I also go deep on career advice: building a killer portfolio that’s a 1:1 example of what you’d do for a team, forcing opportunities, starting with smaller programs that actually value you, and networking through DMs, LinkedIn, and just talking to people on the sidelines. I share how I think about team branding through photos (party vibe vs gritty championship vibe), why I shoot RAW and vertical, and my biggest “icks” (stop posting players mid-grimace and please clean up skin). If you’re trying to land your first college gig—or level up your sports creative work—this is basically my full brain dump.
