In this video, I share the recorded version of my 2022 TESL Nova Scotia conference presentation on adapting to the “new normal” in the post-COVID era—especially for EAP learners in Canada. I focus on what changed for teachers and students when learning moved across online, hybrid, and in-person spaces, and why those shifts matter for language development, confidence, and classroom participation. My goal is to help teachers make practical decisions that support real communication, not just “getting through content.” I also highlight the kinds of considerations EAP learners face now: navigating new expectations, rebuilding speaking confidence, and adjusting to academic and professional communication demands in a changing environment. Throughout the talk, I connect these ideas back to what I do every day—teaching clear, practical English that improves performance in speaking and writing.
