In this video I’m showing you exactly how I prep and use 5 inch balloons to give your balloon garland that “finishing touch” and really fill in those empty spots. I walk you through how I like to blow them up with a manual pump (about five or six pumps), and I’ll even twist the balloon a little before I tie it. You don’t have to twist, but I like doing it sometimes. The big thing is getting that nice rounded shape—so I push down on the 5 inch balloon and let out a little air until it looks right. Once I have two 5 inch balloons, I tie them into a duplex, then I interlock two duplexes to make a quad. After that, I use a 260 balloon to attach my mini clusters to the garland. I tie the 260 around the middle of the quad and double-knot it, and I personally love using clear 260s because they’re versatile and blend in with any color scheme—no need to keep buying a bunch of different colors. Then I take my finished garland, find any spot that looks empty or needs fluffing, stretch the 260, and wrap it around any balloon in the garland. Because the 260 is flexible, it’s super easy to adjust and move the 5 inch balloons exactly where you want them so your garland looks bigger, prettier, and more full.
