About This Video

In this video, I’m showing you how I made DIY LOL Surprise balls for my daughter’s LOL birthday party—because I did not want to buy the real surprise balls. They cost too much, and I knew I could get the same “mystery unwrapping” fun without breaking the bank. I found 3-inch empty plastic capsules on Amazon, and then I pulled party favor goodies from Walmart, Dollar Tree, and whatever I already had on hand. I walk you through how I cut tissue paper into little squares and wrap each toy one by one before stuffing everything into the capsule. I included things I thought the girls would like, like star bubbles, little coin purses, LOL stickers, a few pieces of candy, and small keychain poppets. Once the balls are packed, I show you how to “smush” them until you hear that click so you know they’re secure. Then it’s time to decorate! I grabbed an LOL image from Google, shrunk it down to fit, and taped it on with packing tape (it may scrunch a little, but it still looks nice). After that, I add LOL girl stickers, hearts and stars, and finish it off by blinging it up with Dollar Tree gems to fill in the empty spaces. The kids loved opening them up—it’s a mystery every time!
