About This Video

Hey friends! In this video I’m showing you exactly how I made these fun, fresh DIY giant popcorn boxes for my daughter’s 9th movie-themed birthday party. I wanted that classic popcorn-box look, but big enough to make a statement in the party setup. I keep it simple and budget-friendly using foam boards from the Dollar Tree, scissors, a pencil, a ruler, and an X-Acto knife (and yes… I had to go over my cuts a few times because I’m not the best with X-Acto knives, but we get it done!). I walk you through how I angle the sides (I didn’t want it straight), how I protect my carpet while cutting, and how I use red duct tape to create those bold popcorn stripes. I also show you my easy trick for the curved top—using the duct tape roll as a guide—then cutting little “V” shapes to help form that curve cleanly. To finish it off, I add “POP CORN” letters that I designed in Canva, printed on regular paper, and glued on. I also share a small tip that saved me: sliding a bag underneath while gluing so I don’t get glue all over the foam board. The end result turned out so cute for our movie party—perfect for themed decor and photos!
