We just wrapped filming six episodes of our A-Team mini-series, and this video is the debrief: what actually happened behind the scenes, what surprised us, and what we learned. We’re on the couch with Cory (our video producer), and honestly, having a third person in the room changed everything. When it’s just the two of us, we’ll stop, restart, overthink, and spiral. With Cory running the gear (and just being a calm presence), it felt like we could just talk—no “performing,” no micromanaging, no worrying about batteries/cards/lights. We also talk about the setup: the “sun in our living room” lights, three cameras (we expected one… maybe two), legit mics, moving the couch, adjusting shades, and dealing with the sun going down mid-shoot. We ended up filming late—like, one episode around midnight—and learned that night can actually look more consistent once you control the lighting. Then we get into the bigger stuff: what we want this channel/podcast to become (and what we absolutely don’t want). We’re building Efficient App into a place teams can go to pick the right B2B software and see what stacks actually work together. We want sponsorships, but only if they’re aligned and real—no awkward ad reads for tools we don’t use. The whole point is: keep it conversational, keep it honest, and share what’s actually happening while we’re still in the middle of it.
