About This Video

I recently almost tripled my app MRR, and in this video I break down the two moves that most indie devs overlook. It started with a niche I noticed in my feed: “looksmaxxing” and facial debloating. I dug into Sensor Tower, saw some wild revenue numbers (like Debuff AI doing ~$37k/month), then did keyword research and realized “debloat” wasn’t that hard to crack into the top 10. That’s how I built No Bloat: photos to track progress, a debloat level analysis, exercises, and even a food scanner that warns you if a meal might make your face puffy. The monetization part is where the needle really moved. I launched with monthly ($6.99) and lifetime ($29.99), plus a free trial… and the trial basically trained people to cancel. So I did the unthinkable: I removed the free trial. But I didn’t stop there—I also “gified” the app. I added a Chad mascot and achievements so it feels less like a dry utility and more like an experience you want to come back to. Going forward, I’m staying obsessed with ASO (I’m top 10 for “debloat”) and I’m shipping an Android version next—no extra marketing for now, just letting ASO do its thing.
