I’m not looking for who’s #1 — I’m checking if the niche is generating revenue at all. If multiple apps in the same niche are making money, that’s real demand; if everything is flat, it’s probably just a dead market. Then I move into ASO using Astro: I target keywords with popularity over 30 and difficulty below 60 so I’m not fighting giants with zero chance to rank. Finally, I cover launch tactics that help you benefit from the App Store’s initial boost: put the main keyword before your app name, and get early reviews through onboarding or right after the user’s first “success moment.”
