About This Video

You can build the best app in the world, but if nobody can find it on the App Store, it doesn’t matter. In this video I walk you through my exact ASO process—the keyword research I do before I write a single line of code. I break down what ASO actually is (basically SEO for the App Store), why it’s not a one-time setup, and how I’ve personally seen rankings drop and recover just by changing the main keyword strategy (I show real examples from my own apps). Then I jump into my workflow inside Astro and show how I pull keyword ideas from competitor apps, filter them, and decide what’s worth targeting. My rule of thumb is popularity over 20 and difficulty below 60, and I also explain what not to do (like targeting other app names). I also show how I validate niches with Sensor Tower by checking if apps in that space are making real money (I’m looking for apps doing $5K+/month). Finally, I show how I actually use keywords—putting the main keyword in the title, supporting keywords in the subtitle, and repeating relevant terms in the description and even screenshots, because the App Store algorithm is now reading text from screenshots too.
