On this cruise port day in Mazatlán, Mexico, we booked a cruise-line open-air (topless) bus tour and spent the day seeing the city with a local guide. From ocean views along the Malecón to historic landmarks, this tour packed a lot into a short visit. One of the highlights of the day was watching Mazatlán’s famous cliff divers (El Clavadista) leap from high cliffs into the ocean below, perfectly timing their dives with the waves, a tradition passed down through generations. We also visited the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, explored Mazatlán’s historic center, admired public art along the Malecón, and squeezed in some souvenir shopping and authentic Mexican food. Back on the ship, we grabbed a quick bite at The Local, then relaxed by the waterfront before wrapping up our Thanksgiving with a non-traditional holiday dinner at Le Bistro, our favorite specialty dining restaurant on NCL, one we always make a point to visit. It was a full, fun, and memorable day in Mazatlán, and a unique way to celebrate Thanksgiving at sea. @norwegiancruiseline #cruisenorwegian ✨ Thanks for watching! About This Video

Good morning from the NCL Bliss—this port day in Mazatlán just happened to land on Thanksgiving, which made it feel extra fun (and very non-traditional). We booked a cruise-line “topless bus” tour (open-air, no roof), which made it super easy to meet right at the port and head straight into the city. We kicked things off with big ocean views at Cerro del Crestón near El Faro, cruised along the Malecón spotting public art, and then hit the moment we were most excited for: Mazatlán’s famous cliff divers (El Clavadista). Watching them time their jumps with the waves—and hearing how they train for years and pass it down through families—was honestly incredible. We also stopped at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and it was especially beautiful because there was an actual service happening. We kept it respectful (shoulders covered, hats off), but the ceiling, stained glass, and the way the light hit the chandelier were stunning. Our last stop included the classic “jewelry store stop” with tastings and air conditioning, so we did our best to souvenir shop quickly—then Pepper found us a little hole-in-the-wall spot for authentic ceviche and shrimp cocktail that I’ll be dreaming about for a long, long time. Back at the port we wandered the market (yes, we bought multiple Christmas ornaments again), shuttled back to the ship, grabbed a bite at The Local, and then wrapped up Thanksgiving at our favorite NCL specialty restaurant: Le Bistro. French onion soup, escargot, and the filet—perfect ending before an early Cabo morning.
