Danube River Cruise: From Vilshofen to Passau 🇩🇪

Come along as we continue our AmaWaterways Danube River Cruise with a peaceful morning, some fascinating engineering, and a beautiful afternoon in Bavaria! We started the day exploring the quaint riverside town of Vilshofen, Germany—a quiet village that feels like a step back in time. Then we set sail on the Danube, enjoying scenic views and a relaxing stretch of the journey. ⛴️ One of the highlights of the day was passing through our first river lock of the trip. Watching the ship slowly lower to match the downstream water level was mesmerizing—it’s incredible how precisely these maneuvers are handled. By afternoon, we arrived in Passau, known as the City of Three Rivers. We joined a guided walking tour through the city’s historic streets and made our way to the stunning St. Stephen’s Cathedral, home to the largest cathedral pipe organ in the world.
