In this video I’m reviewing three Leonardo fountain pens that each bring something totally different to the table—materials, filling systems, and nib personalities. I go through the Momento Zero “Dragon Heart,” the Momento Magico “Nuvola” Special Edition, and the Momento Zero Grande Primary Manipulation 1 “Lite” SE, sharing what stands out to me as a fountain pen journaler who really cares about how a pen feels in hand and how it performs on the page. Dragon Heart is a special collaboration (and yes—2024 being the Year of the Dragon makes the name feel extra perfect). It’s a cartridge/converter pen with a #6 JoWo 14K gold 1.1 stub and an ebonite feed, so it’s built to give you that expressive line variation I love for headings and journaling flair. Nuvola is my “form and function with class” pick—a piston filler with an ink window and a #6 JoWo steel broad, and it has that vintage, Wedgewood-China vibe that feels elegant without being fussy. And then the MZG PM1 Lite is the showstopper material moment: Jonathan Brooks translucency, ethereal swirls, and a bigger #8 titanium broad with an ebonite feed in a piston filler—made for bold, juicy writing sessions.
