If you’re struggling to find the right course for character animation in Blender, this video is my attempt to stop the guessing. Most animation courses either overwhelm you with theory or leave you stuck halfway through, so I curated the options I’d actually point a serious Blender learner to in 2025—based on structure, clarity, and how well they move you toward studio-level results. I also break animation down into two big lanes: motion capture vs hand-keyed animation. Mocap can be fast, but it often looks stiff without cleanup (and yes, people do mocap cleanup as a full-time job). Hand-keying takes longer—pros might only output 3–6 seconds a day—but it teaches you the fundamentals way faster. That’s why, in my opinion, beginners should start with hand-keyed animation first, then learn mocap cleanup later.
