About This Video

Hey my loves, it’s Cass. In this behind-the-scenes “film a YouTube video with me,” I’m walking you through what a real filming day looks like for me—from the chaotic planning phase all the way to the first steps of editing. I show you how I organize my talking points (I’m a Notes app girl downnn), how I build a quick mood board/storyboard using Pinterest inspo, and the little tech-y tricks that help me stay on track when I’m filming on the fly. I also get into the gear and setup I’m using, like my Canon G7X Mark I (my favorite go-to) and my Canon EOS 250D (my big mama for sit-down videos). I talk about the unsexy but necessary stuff—charging batteries the night before, dealing with off-brand battery chargers, letting certain lights “warm up,” and being very mindful about what’s in your background so you’re not mad at yourself in post. Then I show you my editing flow: importing footage, lining up screen recordings with the main clip, doing color grading early because I’m super visual, and adding markers for things like the subscribe button and intro. I also share how I’m getting more intentional with SEO titles using Google/Gemini so my videos are easier to find—because consistency is the goal, okay.
