I’ve been using the 2025 M3 iPad Air for about a week, and I genuinely think it’s one of the best deals Apple offers right now. I’ve been an iPad Pro user since 2018 and I use an iPad basically every day—work, personal stuff, creative projects—so I’m pretty picky. Even though this Air isn’t wildly different from the M2 Air, the real story is value: it starts at $600, while the iPad Pro starts at $1,000, and you’re getting a huge chunk of the “Pro” experience for a lot less money. Design-wise, it’s basically unchanged and still feels great in-hand, with that Touch ID power button that I actually love. The big compromise is the display: it’s a 60Hz LCD with thicker bezels, and next to the Pro’s tandem OLED and 120Hz, it’s not even close. But in real life—watching videos, editing photos, writing, drawing—I had no complaints, and for most people it’s perfectly fine. Where the Air really shines is what you can do with it. I use mine for email, notes, media, social, even streaming games, but especially creative work—Shapr3D, Nomad Sculpt, Photoshop quick edits, and Procreate (the app that made me fall in love with iPad in the first place). Performance feels fast, battery life is excellent, and my takeaway is simple: if you’re buying new, make it this one—or consider Apple Refurbished for an M2 Air deal.
