What’s up you guys—Brad here, and in #AskBrick 105 I’m answering a bunch of LEGO questions that hit everything from my LEGO room history, to a super gross-but-satisfying Taj Mahal cleanup, to why I’m honestly skeptical (and yeah, kinda annoyed) about LEGO trying to push “smart” tech into a hobby that’s supposed to be about building. I also talk about where I actually grew up (not Toronto), why I moved here for school, and how my LEGO collection made the jump to the city—first into an office/studio space, and then into the apartment LEGO room I’ve been in since 2021. I also get into the truth about my Taj Mahal rebuild and why I genuinely think the “layer of disgust” (dust, grime, kitchen oils—gross) may have protected the white bricks from yellowing. It’s not advice I’m recommending, but it worked out in my favor. Then I rant a bit about the new LEGO Smart Brick sets—because every time LEGO goes tech-heavy, it feels like it never sticks long-term.
