About This Video

In this episode of Minibuild Monday, I’m cracking open a super cool vintage LEGO McDonald’s Happy Meal polybag—set 2069, the “Swamp Boat.” The wild part is it came out in 1999… which is literally the year I was born, so yeah, this thing is basically as old as me. It’s a 3-in-1 little bag with only 15 pieces, and in this video I build the main boat model that’s shown right on the front. I go through the unbagging (which honestly kind of kills me because it’s vintage), check out the instructions, and laugh at how tiny the build is—this set is literally five steps. One of my favorite details is the printed tile up front, because the printing feels different than modern tiles; it’s way glossier. I also show off the old rebate offer inside the instructions (expired in 2000), which is such a fun time-capsule detail. Then I do the real test: will this blocky little swamp boat float? It’s got to be one of the squarest, most no-curves boats I’ve ever built, plus a weird spinning propeller that can’t decide if it’s a boat or a helicopter. But sure enough, it floats—no minifig room really, but a float is a float.
