Welcome, October. In this video I’m doing two of my favorite things in one slow, cozy session: a Hobonichi month setup and a little desk refresh for fall. I start by shifting my space into “spooky season” mode—small decor changes, a more autumn feel, and the kind of tidy reset that makes it easier to actually sit down and journal. It’s not about perfection; it’s about making the desk feel inviting so I’ll come back to it. Then I move into my Hobonichi setup with my Frankenstein theme taking over Hobonichi’s Purple October. I swap into my new Foggy Plaid cover, talk through a change in how I’m using the book this month, and build out the practical pieces: calendar pages first, then my commonplace section (my little “Ockoberstein” moment), and finally the weekly pages where I lean into journaling. The takeaway is simple: set up just enough structure to hold your month, leave room for the season to show up, and let the planner be a gentle ritual—cozy, functional, and personal.
