Only problem—I thought I’d packed everything… tea bags, sugar, milk… and then realised I’d forgotten the mugs. So I had to diversify and get creative, which is a good reminder for new boaters: even when you plan well, you never know what’s going to happen. From there it turns into a real-world “boat life” how-to: cooking onboard, keeping things practical, and making the most of your time at anchor. I walk through my simple bacon-and-eggs wrap setup on a little cooker (yes, it’s a working kitchen—tidy kitchens aren’t being used), and I show how I crack the eggs, get the bacon on, and fold it into an easy handheld meal. Between the laughs, music, and messing about with friends, the takeaway is simple: anchoring up is about being safe, comfortable, and adaptable—because something will always surprise you out on the water.
