About This Video

In this video I break down Apple’s brand-new Vision Pro and the big question everyone’s asking: will it actually replace the iPhone? It launches early next year at an insane $3,500, but I’m trying to look at it objectively—less “AR/VR hype” and more how Apple integrated the whole experience. VisionOS is basically Apple taking what we know from iPhone, iPad, and Mac and making it interpretable in 3D space, and from the keynote the UI looked really fluid. The environments feature (mixing AR with full VR immersion), plus hand-and-eye control, is the kind of interaction shift that feels genuinely industry-changing. I also talk about what the real appeal is—for Apple and for regular users. Companies want a new platform where they can monetize everything, and if this becomes the next “everyone wears it” device, whoever owns that ecosystem wins. For users, the selling points are convenience and ease of use, but I’m not convinced people will wear a huge headset day-to-day yet (and no, nobody’s wearing this on an airplane with that wire hanging out). The other make-or-break factor is third-party apps: Apple’s apps will look great, but we need to see how things like Instagram or Notion translate. My favorite demo was easily the movie watching experience with spatial audio, and I think virtual work setups could drive a lot of day-one corporate bulk buys—even if I’m personally not a huge fan of virtual work.
