Astrophotography adventure season is officially here! To celebrate I’m sharing a quick update on the van and the prep work going into this year’s expeditions. But there’s a bigger goal on the horizon: returning to a Bortle 1 zone. It’s been over a decade since I last stood under skies that dark, and back then, I wasn't alone. Transitioning to solo adventuring changes the math, and if I’m being honest I’m a little apprehensive about the solitude. I prep the gear, tweak the van, and weigh the beauty of the stars against the reality of the road, alone.
