It has been an endlessly cloudy fall this year. After waiting months for the relentless grey skies to clear, I finally saw a temporary "hole" in the weather pattern and knew I had to jump on it immediately. Tonight, I’m revisiting a project that has been haunting me since last year: The Pleiades (M45), also known as the Seven Sisters. Last winter, I started shooting this target and was genuinely surprised by what I saw with only 2 hours of exposure time. Even with that short integration, I started to pick up faint, incredible background dust—the Reflection Nebulae and the faint wisps of the Interstellar Flux Nebula (IFN) that surround these massive blue stars. I have been eager to grab more data to really bring those dusty details to life, but the weather just hasn't cooperated... until now. Join me as I set up for a race against the clouds. Will this break in the weather hold long enough for me to stack the hours I need, or will the clouds roll back in and cut the session short?
