Ever since I dipped my toes into astrophotography, galaxy season was my least favorite time of the year. Why, you ask? Well, picture this: all those gorgeous nebulae hiding below the horizon like they were playing a cosmic game of hide and seek! And as a street astrophotographer, getting enough monochrome LRGB data on galaxies felt like trying to squeeze orange juice from a rock. Last year, I decided to splurge on my very first one-shot color camera. To my utter shock, I suddenly found myself having a blast during galaxy season from my bortle 7 skies! Who knew that capturing galaxies could be so much fun? This year, I was ready to take it up a notch. Armed with my brand new, faster Apertura Carbonstar 150—much quicker than my Askar 103 APO from last year—I was practically buzzing with excitement. Would I finally get the signal on that project I had been itching to continue for months? Thanks to my subscribers and thank you for 3500 subs!
