Welcome to my season 3 finale of Running on Pixie Dust — aka the ultimate “let’s catch up” episode because I truly feel like I haven’t recorded in 75 years. I’m recapping a whole stretch of life lately: the runDisney Springtime Surprise 10K (Hercules themed, so obviously I had to show up as Meg), my absolutely unreal trip to Bali for a friend’s wedding, a quick detour into Epic Universe previews, and then the Lululemon 10K Miami weekend. It’s been back-to-back-to-back in the best and most chaotic way, which is very “off season baby,” even if it also means I’m exhausted. For Springtime Surprise, I went in with zero PR pressure because Florida heat is gonna Florida heat, and I didn’t want to stress right before hopping on a flight. Bali was genuinely a trip of a lifetime — from a stopover tour in Dubai to Singapore humidity runs, to a slightly unhinged jungle/rice field run in Ubud where I was convinced I’d meet a snake (I didn’t, thank God). And yes, I used a Capital 1 Venture card strategy to upgrade my flight home to Emirates business class with literal sleeper pods, which felt like the most financially-responsible splurge ever. Now I’m home, mildly post-Bali depressed, and starting to shift my brain toward Chicago Marathon training.
