About This Video

I’m in Portugal for a week-in-my-life style vlog: first Porto, then down to Sagres in the Algarve. I’m staying at Outsite (a co-living/co-working spot), and if you’re just starting out as a digital nomad, I genuinely think Portugal is one of the best plays in Western Europe—cheaper, loads of remote workers around, and English is spoken a lot. I also show what my workdays actually look like: getting up early to grab a good desk, doing deep work, then forcing myself to get out and explore instead of rotting in an Airbnb all day. Work-wise, I’m finishing up a mobile app I’ve been building for the last year, and we sent it to a pentester… who absolutely tore it to shreds. So a big chunk of the week is me grinding through security vulnerability tickets. I also break down a real “startup-style” task: sometimes you get a Figma, but sometimes you’re the one designing the UX and building the full thing—front end, a bit of back end, and the UI. It’s basically a mini CRUD app with a grid of users and groups, and it’s a good example of how requirements shift when you’re in a small company. And yeah—Porto throws a curveball: a country-wide blackout. No ATMs, no card payments, no food, traffic lights out… it’s a reminder to always carry cash.
