I made this video for anyone who feels stuck, behind, or like they’ve somehow “failed” because they’re not where they want to be. I started again at 30: I changed careers, moved cities, got new friends, became a digital nomad, and rebuilt my life from the ground up. Before tech, I bounced around a lot—law degree (didn’t want to do law), door-to-door sales, teaching in Asia, recruitment (got fired, then later became a manager), marketing, advertising… and I kept feeling like I was drifting. During the pandemic in 2020, I finally got serious about being intentional. I broke down what I actually wanted: location independence, interesting work that uses my brain, the ability to work from my laptop, and a path that could lead to multiple income streams. I also did a “perfect life in 8 years” visualization exercise—writing out a hyper-specific dream day—and that clarity helped me pick a direction. Then came the real part: time, money, and ego. I shut my life down for about a year (evenings + weekends) to learn to code, took the salary hit to go entry-level, and accepted being managed by younger people. But the payoff is real—and your previous career skills stack. If you’re considering starting over, my biggest takeaway is motivation + consistency: small daily work beats occasional big bursts, and a clear vision can be jet fuel.
