Hi everyone, it’s Amanda—and in this cozy Tokyo travel vlog, I took myself on a little solo stationery shopping date (because low key, that’s why I come to Japan). Instead of only hitting the classic spots like Hands and Loft (which I still love), I wanted to show you some smaller, more local-approved shops that deserve some shine and might be worth adding to your Japan itinerary. I spent the day in Kichijoji, a super cute vintage-feeling neighborhood, and even accidentally found extra gems along the way. I popped into Petit Mura first, which genuinely felt like walking into an enchanted forest. I picked up a bunch of postcards and stickers—my favorites were these vintage-style Sanrio collab stickers—and I definitely stayed in there way too long. Then I went to Kuusoogai (aka “Fantasy Street Gallery Store”), which felt like an art gallery/bookstore full of tiny imaginary worlds, plus there’s an adorable themed cafe next door. I wrapped up at Paper Message, a tiny but jam-packed shop with really unique “build your own” paper greeting card setups (cake, parfait, ramen bowl… everything), and even a mini photo booth that prints on receipt paper—perfect for journaling. I also included a washi paper making workshop in Asakusa, because making traditional Japanese paper from start to finish was just too fun to pass up.
