Hey guys, it’s Amanda, and in this video I’m setting up my September 2024 bullet journal with a Tamagotchi theme—because fall is my favorite season, and September always makes me want to be extra cozy and journal-y. I went into this month with zero theme ideas, but I bounced ideas with you guys on a Twitch stream and someone suggested Tamagotchi, which immediately sent me down a nostalgia rabbit hole. I used my childhood Crayola markers (very on brand for inner-child healing) and leaned into that cute, slightly derpy Tamagotchi character style that’s honestly impossible to “mess up” because the official art changes so much anyway. I walk you through four space-efficient pages: a manga/Y2K-inspired cover page with navy outlines (I’ve been loving navy instead of black lately), a compact monthly overview using navy grid paper that looks pixel-y like a Tamagotchi screen, a half-spread for habit + mood tracking, and a single-page weekly layout that’s basically a hack. The blue grid paper already had perfect little boxes, so I used it for weekly events and added a rolling to-do list underneath—plus lots of cut-out doodles, washi tape, and rainbow stickers. It’s cute, functional, and genuinely one of my favorite weekly spreads I’ve made in a while.
