Today’s Vlogmas (Day 19) is all about making a fun little gift for a white elephant party—and of course I had to make it personal. I’m playing around with sublimation to create custom playing cards featuring my adorable dogs, because if I’m bringing a gift, it might as well make people laugh and also be genuinely usable. This is one of those projects that feels extra festive because it’s quick, customizable, and it’s not another "dust collector" kind of make. Even though I’m usually in my sewing/quilting/bag-making lane, I love tossing in crafty side quests during Vlogmas—especially when they help me knock out gift ideas without stressing myself out. The big takeaway here is that you can turn something super basic (a deck of cards) into a memorable handmade-style gift just by adding your own images and leaning into what you love. For me, that’s my pups—always. If you’re headed to a white elephant exchange and you want something different than the usual mug/candle situation, personalized sublimation cards are such a cute option.
