About This Video

This week’s “On Saturdays, I Sew!” is a little different because I’m sewing through COVID and all the lovely brain fog that comes with it. I’m keeping it real—moving slower, giving myself grace, and letting sewing be the thing that helps me feel a bit more like me again. Even when my energy is low, sitting down at the machine (or the cutting table) gives my brain something calm and creative to focus on. I still pushed myself in a good way, though: I was brave enough to sew curves and work with leather. Curves can be fiddly on the best day, and leather definitely makes you think before you stitch, so it felt like a win to show up and try anyway. The big takeaway here is that progress doesn’t have to be perfect to count—sometimes the victory is simply sewing at all, making thoughtful choices, and enjoying the process even when life is messy.
