About This Video

In this video, I’m doing an honest study abroad Q&A and sharing what I genuinely wish I knew before I went. If you’re even considering studying abroad, I’m just going to make it easy: my answer is yes, you should do it. I studied through James Madison University’s semester in London program, lived with a group of JMU students, took classes that counted toward my Media Arts & Design major, and even got to intern at a film production company—literally such a cool, once-in-a-lifetime setup. I also get super real about what day-to-day life looked like: yes, I did school (even if my vlogs made it look like I was always traveling), and I talk through how I balanced classes, an internship, and having Fridays through Sundays free for trips. I share how I kept a routine during the week, why I learned to loosen up on weekends, and the little culture adjustments in London (the Tube, the “don’t make eye contact” big city thing, walking on the left, and crossing streets the right way). Then I go into travel planning, solo travel (I love it and I’ll die on that hill), safety tips like phone awareness and checking travel advisories, budgeting, and the reality of missing home and dealing with time differences. My goal is to help you feel way more prepared—and also excited—so you can have the best experience possible.
