Good morning guys—this video is literally my behind-the-scenes look at recruitment prep at JMU (from the most clueless junior you’ll ever meet). I rushed as a sophomore, got initiated last fall, and then I left the country second semester… so this is my first time doing recruitment on the other side. We had three “spirit days” instead of a full work week, and I vlogged all the chaos: early mornings, caffeine runs, outfit themes, and me trying to embrace not knowing what to expect. Spirit Day 1 was “squeeze you later” (lemon theme), and my outfit had a whole storyline because I turned an old dance costume into a halter top with help from my sorority sister’s roommate—actual seamstress behavior. Spirit Day 2 was star-themed, plus I finally got to be in the chapter TikTok dance (to “Just Keep Watching” by Tate McCrae), even though I learned it on the wrong side at first. Spirit Day 3 was “it’s always sunny,” but it was freezing and cloudy, and we did a bigger run-through with all the sororities on the row—aka the closest thing to real recruitment. We also got some PR like Bloom, LMNT electrolyte packs, skincare, and fake tan, and I’m debating testing the tan before recruitment because it looked dark and I’m scared.
