In this video I walk through how I draw XABCD patterns cleanly and consistently—without turning my chart into a guessing game. I’m not anti-indicator at all. Automated indicators are useful. But when it comes to XABCD work, I’ve found semi-automated drawing tools give me the best of both worlds: I still make the trading decision, but the tool helps me avoid the silly mistakes that creep in when you’re moving fast. I break down five reasons this approach gives you an edge. First is pattern persistence—your workspace stays intact so you’re not constantly redrawing. Then I show how ratio-based color highlights and on-the-fly validation reduce stress because you get instant feedback if the geometry is off. It’s also a huge time saver: you can quickly adjust and compare variations instead of starting from scratch. Finally, manually drawing (with guardrails) trains your eye, improves pattern recognition, and still leaves room for judgment on slightly “off” patterns or custom variations. The goal is faster, cleaner decisions by balancing time, price, and frequency—without outsourcing your brain to an indicator.
