In this special XP Waste episode, I’m live with Michael about 19 minutes before the 2026 Winter Summit kicks off, and the vibe is exactly what you’d expect: a little chaotic, a little cringe, and extremely OSRS-brained. We’re streaming the whole thing on YouTube (not Twitch—sorry, Tiki), shouting out our Wise Old Man patrons, and then killing time with last-minute Summit predictions while Jagex is wrapping up Deadman Factions. If you’re listening on Spotify, I straight-up tell you: you’re not getting the full live reaction there—go watch the YouTube upload if you want the real-time hype (and the scuffed audio checks).
Before the Summit starts, we get into what we actually want from OSRS development: skill reworks (smithing comes up hard), the eternal “agility sucks” debate, and how Jagex avoids touching systems because they’re too tied to the meta. Michael goes in on agility being all grind and no payoff, and we argue about how far “old school” should go when stuff like mining/smithing tables are objectively outdated. Once the stream starts, we react to early reveals like the Blood Moon Rises Grandmaster quest set in Vampyrium, the Maggot King post-quest boss, new skilling activities (bloodwood trees, stims, leech fins), and reward teases like a new crush weapon (Crimson Bludgeon) and a best-in-slot range necklace.
