Welcome back to XP Waste—this week I pulled an “Oxy” and didn’t play RuneScape at all, while Oxy did the exact opposite and put in an absolutely unhinged crab shift on the iron (we’re talking 1M+ Strength XP and a fresh 90 Strength). After we get the “90% OSRS, 9.5% random thoughts” out of our system (including me being a menace at live sports and accidentally turning a work trip into a Broadway review), we lock in on what actually matters: the final blog in our 3-part Sailing overview series—this one focused on Slayer. In this episode, I walk through the Sailing + Slayer blog: new proposed Slayer creatures (Griffins, Strike Worms, Aquanites, and Frost Dragons), where they fit in, and why it’s hilarious that Jagex keeps dropping big news right when we say “nothing is happening.” We also riff on the community’s eternal “Sailing is a minigame” take, because at some point you’ve gotta admit the skill is deep, not a little side activity. And of course we end with the real hard-hitting question: if you could be reincarnated as one of these new Slayer creatures, which one are you picking?
