In this video I walk you through my 2024 desk setup for programming and creative work, and I show the exact gear I use day-to-day. I’m a big fan of working from a laptop because it gives me mobility, but I still want a comfortable “desktop-like” workflow when I’m coding. So I break down my essentials: my laptop, my main keyboard plus a newer keyboard I’ve talked about in another video, an SSD for storing video files, and my monitor setup for when the laptop screen isn’t enough. The main upgrade in this video is solving the “not enough ports” problem. My old USB hub was fine until I decided to add another monitor, and then it just didn’t cut it anymore. I unbox the FusionDock Pro 1+ and show what it offers: power over USB‑C, multiple USB ports, SD card and headphone slots, Ethernet, and support for up to three monitors. I also share the key setup step: to run multiple external displays on a MacBook you’ll need to install DisplayLink Manager and then activate it in system settings.
