About This Video

In this video I’m walking you through what Volvo updated for the 2026 XC90, and I’m doing it on a B5 Core in Crystal White with the Cardamom quilted Nautical interior. Since the Core is the base trim (XC90 comes in Core, Plus, and Ultra), it’s the important one to look at if you want the lowest-price entry point but still want the right features and the newest design changes. Up front, the big visual change is the redesigned grille with a more asymmetrical diagonal pattern, plus slimmer updated Thor’s Hammer full-LED headlights. Volvo also adds updated matrix light tech for better nighttime driving, and for 2026 every model gets headlight washers. I also point out the available dark theme that blacks out a lot of the chrome, the standard front and rear sensors on the B5, and the Core’s wheel options (20s, 21s, or 22s)—this one sits on 20-inch glossy black diamond-cut wheels with Pirelli Scorpions. Inside, Volvo reshaped the dash and bumped every trim to a larger 11.2-inch freestanding touchscreen (up from the smaller 9-inch). You still get Google built-in, Google Maps, and wired Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, plus a 12.3-inch digital driver display. Even as a base model, the Core has some nice touches like open-pore wood, soft-touch materials, memory seats, and tempered side/rear glass for a quieter cabin.
