In this DJ Tutorial 209, I break down my real-world workflow for editing, compiling, and exporting a DJ mixtape in Logic Pro—specifically when you recorded the mix in multiple takes. I’m not talking about “marketing fluff” or magical AI tools that stitch things together with zero soul. I’m showing you how to take six (or any number of) recorded segments, drop them into a DAW, align them, and turn them into one cohesive mixtape that’s ready for public consumption. My method is simple: record until you make a mistake, stop, save that segment, then restart from an easily recognizable point in the track (start of a phrase, verse, break, drop). Inside Logic, I create one track per segment (Part 1–6), roughly align them, then zoom in and line up transients—kick drums and phrase starts are your best friends here. I’ll also show where fades help (and where they can hurt if you accidentally reduce volume). Finally, I do basic cleanup on the stereo out: cut sub-20Hz mud, add a limiter around -0.1 to -0.2 so nothing clips, then bounce the project to an MP3. If you can count bars and understand audio, you can do this—even if you’re “just a DJ.”
