DeWalt teamed up with Auguste Robotics to build a robotic drilling solution that basically deletes manual layout and a ton of the physical grind. The contractor problem was simple: data centers needing around 7,000 holes in a room, done by hand with rotary hammers, dust, vibration, and repetitive work that beats people up. Here’s the “David vs. Goliath” stat that made my jaw drop: a crew of about 10–12 people takes 7–8 weeks to knock that out. They ran four robots on the same kind of job and did it in 7 days. The workflow is BIM/CAD upload to a tablet, control points on the floor, then a “Guiding Station” (think total station) that tells the robot where it is—so you’re not snapping chalk lines or pulling tape all day.
