In this video I’m unboxing and reviewing the PreSonus Monitor Station V2, and I’m telling you straight up why I feel like this is a must-have studio item for a real recording setup. I’ve owned the original Monitor Station for years—close to a decade—and I loved it so much that I bought another one to replace it once it started acting up (I’m out of the warranty window). I’m not here to over-talk it; I’m just showing you how I actually use it in my studio and why it makes my workflow so much easier. The big wins are simple: it lets you run up to three sets of studio monitors, and it gives you four headphone outputs so multiple people can monitor at the same time. I also break down how I route two audio interfaces into it (my Apollo Twin and my Fast Track Ultra) so I can switch between my Mac and PC without unplugging and replugging everything. On top of that, features like mono, mute, dim/attenuation, and talkback are clutch—especially when I’m working with artists in a booth. I also show a quick setup diagram: balanced TRS from your interfaces into Stereo 1 and Stereo 2, then TRS/XLR-to-TRS out to your monitor sets (A/B/C). My personal tip: crank your interface outputs up and control your listening level from the Monitor Station so everything stays “set it and forget it.”
