First thing I look at is what DAW you want to use—if you want Logic, you’re automatically in Apple land because Logic is Mac-only. But if you’re using Pro Tools, Ableton, FL Studio, Cubase, and most other DAWs, you can run those on both platforms, so it comes down to workload, budget, and how you like to work. I personally use both Mac and PC, but if I have to choose one, I’m going PC. I like control and expandability: I can swap RAM, add more SSD storage, and future-proof my setup without paying Apple upgrade prices. For audio recording, CPU and cores matter way more than a graphics card, and I recommend at least 16GB RAM minimum (honestly, 32GB+ is becoming the new normal if you run a lot of plugins). I also talk about real-world stuff people forget—ports, compatibility with older gear, and how Apple upgrades can force you into new adapters or replacing hardware. Bottom line: both can record, but for heavy production, lots of plugins, and an all-in-one workhorse, PC is usually the smarter buy.
