logic pro x tutorial for beginners. In this video I show you how to use drag and drop loops and insert instrument tracks to utilize the vsts

About This Video

In this Logic Pro X tutorial, I’m showing you how to start building beats fast by using two things Logic gives you right out the box: drag-and-drop loops and the built-in instrument tracks (VST/AU instruments). I walk you through creating a new Software Instrument Track, making sure your MIDI keyboard is being read, and then testing signal so you know you’re ready to play and record. I also recommend you go into Advanced and enable Complete Features, because it unlocks extra tools and options you’ll want later when you’re recording and mixing. From there, I show you how to swap sounds quickly, tweak the instrument plugins with knobs like EQ, drive, chorus, tremolo, and more, and even load up something like Ultrabeat to start programming drums. I demonstrate how to drag patterns into the Arrange window, solo tracks, use cycle, record with the metronome and count-in, and then quantize with a simple quick key. Finally, I jump into Logic’s loop library so you can click, preview, and drag loops straight into your session—Logic usually follows your project tempo, and it even shows key/tempo/bar info so you can make better choices. Bottom line: play around, drag what you like, chop and move things around, and just have fun creating.
