You probably noticed I’ve been gone for a minute, so in this video I give you the real update on where I’ve been. Between coaching football (and really trying to be more than just a coach—more like a life mentor for these kids) and getting COVID again, my energy and time were just not there. This second time wasn’t like the first time where I almost died, but it still had me down for a couple weeks with high fevers and crazy body pain—my wife literally had to rush me to the hospital and I was in a wheelchair. I’m feeling a lot better now though, and I’m blessed to be back making videos for y’all. After the story time, I jump into a “secret” Logic Pro X plugin move I like using for beats: Step FX. I show you how I play chords, Bounce in Place, reverse the audio (File > Functions > Reverse), then shape it with Channel EQ by rolling off the top end. From there I add Step FX (Multi Effects > Step FX > Stereo), load the “Broken Echoes” preset, and tweak it for movement, dirt, and vibe. The big takeaway is you can get super creative with simple stock tools—duplicate, pan left/right for stereo width, and even add extra effects like Chorus on just one side so it stays interesting without getting annoying or robotic.
