About This Video

So you recorded your vocals inside of BandLab, but now you’re like… “how do I actually apply effects and save them so I don’t have to rebuild my chain every single time?” In this video I walk you through exactly how I do it. I’m inside a real session so you can hear the difference—reverb, EQ, compression, delay—the whole nine yards. I also show you how I’m using my own custom presets (like my UDE vox presets) so my vocals stay consistent from song to song. I break down where to click, how to open the Effects section, and how to choose between BandLab’s stock presets versus building your own from scratch. Then I go into “Add Effect” and show you the main categories you’ll actually use: dynamics (compressors), EQ/tone, and reverb/space. Once you get your chain sounding the way you want, I show you how to hit “Save As,” name your preset, and recall it on any track later. Big warning too: don’t hit the trash can unless you want to delete the preset completely. If you just want to remove effects from a track, delete them one at a time so you don’t have to remake your preset again.
