In today’s video I’m checking out the ANYFREE (Anye) smart video doorbell with a built-in camera, and the first thing I’ll say is: it’s got a couple things that are extremely cool about it. It actually looks like a real doorbell with a little pull-chain style chime, and the chime/receiver reached all the way into our backyard (about 120 ft away). On top of that, it’s solar charging with a built-in battery, so on sunny days it tops itself up, and on overcast days it runs off the battery. I unbox everything, show what’s in the box (mounting hardware, manual, and they even include the screwdriver), then I walk you through setup in the app. You do need to create an account during installation, and I show the pairing process with the signal station (which also doubles as the door chime). What I really like is the SD card slot is in the signal station, not the doorbell—so if someone steals the doorbell, they don’t steal your storage. I also show real footage, including night footage where the infrared kicks in, and how it calls your phone when someone rings so you can answer and use two-way audio. Overall: easy to set up and it worked flawlessly in my testing.
