Rode Procaster Unboxing!

I am a long time fan of Rode microphones, and I had previously been using one of their condenser mics - the NT1-A. I love the sound of that mic, but as fate would have it, I moved into a new apartment on a busy road, and that condenser picked up a lot of background noise. So I decided to try a broadcast quality dynamic microphone in the hopes it would cut down on some of that noise. I'm very pleased with the results so far! The mic sounds great to my ears, and I've used it for voice over and podcast recordings. In my modest home studio, I have my Procaster paired with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Third Gen and a FetHead. It's been a solid combination thus far! And let's not ignore how cool this microphone looks! Just be aware that it's quite heavy. I had to upgrade my boom arm to get the most out of this beast of a microphone. I was torn at first between buying either this or the Podmic, another dynamic mic from Rode. And while I still want to pick up a Podmic one day, I am super happy with the choice I made. And naturally, you can use the Procaster mic for all sorts of applications beyond just voice over. I haven't tested it on an instrument yet, but I have a feeling it would be very pleasing! Thanks for watching!
