This is my first ever gaming laptop, and I am super excited! Let's find out what's in the box, and check out what this powerful machine is all about. Last year, my wife purchased the 2020 Zephyrus G14. I was blown away by that machine, not only because of its power, but also for its great design and comfortable keyboard. When Asus announced a larger 15.6 inch version for 2021, I knew it was finally time for me to upgrade. This Best Buy version of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 has a Pantone validated 1440p screen with a 165hz refresh rate - making it the fastest display of any device I have ever owned. It also packs in 16 gigs of ram, and the powerful AMD Ryzen 9 and RTX 3070. I find the keyboard on this laptop to be wonderful, and the screen is sharp and responsive. I have had some issues with light bleed around the edges of the display, and the fingerprint sensor is not the most responsive I have ever used, but these are my only small complaints so far. When it comes to gaming, the newer Zephyrus laptops are beasts. While my wife is content to use her gaming laptop to play the Sims 4, I have used mine for games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Fortnite. And while those aren't the most taxing games in 2021, their nearly flawless performance on this laptop gives me great hope for what it can handle - but I guess a bigger test will come when I eventually fire up Resident Evil Village on this machine! Either way, I am proud to have entered the Republic of Gamers! Oh, and the Zephyrus G15 has done wonders for my video editing productivity. Not only can I edit 4K files with ease, but I can also export them far quicker than I could on my previous device.
