Affordable Home Security Kit from X-Sense! Install and Review

This is an affordable, self contained security solution that can help you monitor movement and entry within your home. X-Sense sent me this kit for the purpose of this review. This five piece version of the kit includes a base station, a motion sensor, two entry sensors, and a remote control. There is also an eight piece set that includes an additional motion sensor and two more entry sensors. The base station is the central hub these devices connect to, and depending on the security profile you have selected, it can alert you to motion via the X-Sense Home Security app, or by issuing audible alerts and alarms. In today's video, I unbox the kit, set up the components in the app, and demo some of the functionality of the sensors, remote, and alarms. I find the X-Sense Home Security Kit to be a handsome set that does a fine job of keeping me alerted to what's going on inside my home. There are different security profiles you can select, such as Home mode, in which the base station will provide subtle alert sounds when sensors are triggered. There is also Away mode, where a more aggressive alarm will sound when the sensors detect movement. Along with these audible indicators, you can also receive real time notifications in the X-Sense Home Security app. And the included remote also gives you the ability to manually trigger an alarm in an emergency. As a note, after I finished filming this video, I noticed an inconsistency with sensor notifications in the app. Sensor alerts occurred in real time, however their accompanying time stamp in the app was an hour earlier than it should have been. So if I triggered a motion sensor at 3am, the app said it happened at 2am. I have reached out to X-Sense support about this and will update when I hear back. Over all, I am very pleased with this kit. While it does not provide professional, off-site monitoring, it does a fantastic job of keeping me alerted to movements within my home - even if they're usually caused by my dog snooping around in search of treats :) Thanks for watching!
