This tablet may have debuted in 2019, but as of early 2021, it's still the most current version of the 7 inch Fire. Its specs aren't Earth shattering, but for a tablet that usually retails for around $50, you'll be hard pressed to find a better combination of features and usability. It's a great little device for reading and taking advantage of Amazon's ecosystem. It even features Alexa! You'll also find a refreshingly varied assortment of colors to choose from - in this video I unbox the Sage Green variant. It's a unique color for sure! While the Kindle series of devices are arguably better dedicated e-readers, I find the Fire 7 to be easy to hold and pleasant enough to read, even if it lacks the e-ink display of the Kindle line.
